Church

Covenant

Having been led by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and having publicly professed our faith in Him through baptism, we do now, in the presence of God and this assembly, most earnestly and joyfully enter in covenant as one body in Christ.

Through the power of the Holy Spirit we vow to walk together in Christian unity, to grow in Biblical knowledge, to pursue a life of holiness, and to give ourselves to compassionate ministry. We shall seek the highest good of this church through attending the worship services, observing the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper, maintaining purity through church discipline, and teaching the major doctrines of the Christian faith. We commit ourselves to contribute gladly and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations.

We further agree to participate in personal and family Bible study, to teach our children about God through instruction and example, to seek the salvation of family and friends, to live a life in the world that is above reproach, to avoid all gossip, and excessive anger, to abstain from the sale and use of alcohol, to abstain from anything in our work or public life which could bring dishonor to the name of our Lord, and to be zealous in our efforts to advance the kingdom of our Savior.

We promise to watch over one another in brotherly love, to remember one another in prayer, to aid one another in sickness and distress, to be slow to take offense and be quick in pursuing reconciliation. We further agree that if we should ever move from this place we will, as soon as possible, unite with some other church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God's word.
