Jimmy Plunkett has been serving as Music Director at Sharon since January 2014. He previously served as Music Director at Pine Grove Baptist in Thomson, Georgia for 7 years. Jimmy began church ministry in 1983 as the Youth Coordinator at Sweetwater Baptist in Thomson where he served for 12 years and then interim Youth Director at First Baptist Church in Thomson.

     Jimmy and his wife, Julie, have 2 wonderful children, Caleb who is married to the former Nicole Beane, and Chelsey who is married to Tripp Goodwin. Chelsey and Tripp are the parents of Jimmy and Julie’s five beautiful granddaughters.

     Jimmy and Julie enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren, boating at Clarks Hill Lake, and beach trips with their family.

     Jimmy’s passion is all things choir. For that reason, he sings in a 130 voice men’s choir called Sons of Jubal who sing in Baptist Churches throughout the state of Georgia.
